Field Marks — Cancellation Analogue
Processing Speed · Analogue 03

Field Marks

A cancellation task: sweep the field and mark every target you can find before time runs out.

How it works

You will see a field full of colored shapes. Two of the shape–color combinations are targets. Tap every target you find. Tapping a shape marks it; tapping again unmarks it.

There are two timed sweeps of 45 seconds each. The first field is scattered; the second is arranged in neat rows and uses a different pair of targets. The target key stays pinned to the top of the screen while you work.

Scoring: each correct mark earns a point, and each incorrect mark takes one away — so accuracy matters as much as speed. Work quickly, but only mark shapes you are sure about.

You'll do a short untimed practice first, with feedback.

This is an informal instructional analogue inspired by the cancellation task paradigm. It uses original stimuli, is not a normed or diagnostic instrument, and produces no clinical scores. Note: because targets are defined partly by color, results are not interpretable for respondents with color-vision differences.
