From My Blog
Some of my student's may remember how I used some of my unique hand painted, self-designed skateboards as a tool to teach the different levels of problem solving. For those who don't know, I run a little thing called Skate Whole Dojo, which is a kind of therapeutic skateboarding mentorship class that I run. I have been putting the big theme of the day on the bottom of a skateboard since 2011, so now I just show the bottom of a skateboard and my students know what problem solving tool we will be learning about today in the dojo. Well, I strapped the entire Wholistic Problem Solving model together using old skateboards, making a pretty impressive artistic display, and it is on display for all to see at the Menino Arts Center from April 14-May 14th. The exhibition is presented both physically at the MAC and virtually in a 3D gallery you can walk through at https://www.hpaa-mac.org/exhibits/ and on Facebook : https://www.facebook.com/events/214707441179698/,. The show also features the work of 33 students, 6 alumni, and 6 faculty members of Curry College. There will be a Artists Reception on Saturday May 6th, hope to see you there! Gallery hours at the MAC starting Friday, April 14 are: Wednesdays: 10 am – 2 pm and 6 – 8 pm Thursdays: 10 am – 2 pm Fridays: 10 am – 4 pm Saturdays: 10 am – 12 pm All other times by appointment. Please call us at 617-364-ARTS (2787) or email [email protected] to set up a visit.
